Collection: Kikoy Towels

A Kikoy towel with a pocket! You can use the combed cotton side of the towel as a sarong with a Velcro pocket to store valuables like your keys and phone. Taking a swim at the beach or pool? Flip the towel over and use the terrycloth side to dry yourself off. Traditional elegance meets modern practicality.

Once made and worn by Arab merchants as a sarong, the ‘Kikoy’ is a traditional combed cotton fabric that originates in the East African Coast. Considered an integral part of Swahili culture,  the fabric is immensely popular and prevalent in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar. Cotton combed removes short fibres that can break, and its tight weaves reduce fraying, making the fabric durable for any use.
