Similar to the Khanga and Kikoy towels, the Batik towel is made using a special technique and styles of the Far East. From the Indonesian word “Amba”, meaning “write”, and “titik”, or “drop”, the Batik technique involves repetitions of applying wax to make the fabric waterproof in some areas followed by dips in soft colours before the wax is removed and applied elsewhere. The “Batik effect” creates a classy, tie-dye motif that elevates your home design when the towel is used as a table cloth in your dining room, sheets in your bedroom, or a sofa throw in your living room. Going on a camping trip? The other side of the towel has a Velcro pocket where you can store your keys and wallet — handy in wet, confined spaces like a canoe!
