What is Kikoy?

What is Kikoy?

Let's us introduce you the Kikoy Family!

The Kikoy is a traditional combed cotton fabric that originates in the East African Coast. Once made and worn by Arab merchants as a sarong, it is now considered an integral part of Swahili culture and fashion staple in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar.

Cotton combed removes short fibres that break the fabric, while its tight weaves reduce fraying, making them much more durable.

Because of its versatility, the all Kikoys can be used as a towel, scarf, head wrap, sarong, curtain, tablecloth, baby carrier and more...

And what is difference with Kikoy Towel?

Kikoy Towel is a Kikoy with a pocket!

You can use the combed cotton side of the towel as a sarong with a Velcro pocket to store valuables like your keys and phone. Taking a swim at the beach or pool? Flip the towel over and use the terrycloth side to dry yourself off. Traditional elegance meets modern practicality.

The last member of Kikoy Family is Soft Kikoy!

The Soft Kikoy is a chic pareo fabric that wraps around your waist. Although similar to a sarong, the Soft Kikoy has a smooth and silky texture!
